The best way to determine this is to look at your experience level; not in being part of a project team, but rather in leading teams that are delivering project objectives. If you have less than three years in leading project teams, or less than five years without a four-year degree, the CAPM®
is the right certification for you. This certification allows you to gain recognition that you are knowledgeable in project management and can get you the leadership roles that will qualify you to take the PMP®
exam. The good news is that the CAPM® does not require any experience, so it is a great way to launch your career as a Project Manager!
If you have the experience as described, then the PMP certification is the best choice. There continues to be high demand for PMP certified project managers in the project management field and this certification will help enhance your career and lead to greater opportunities!
